The building of The Village Studios, once a temple in the 1920s, echoes with decades of artists leaving fragments of their soul in the walls. The halls are long, the ceilings high, and the rooms designed to listen. Machines hum, cables coil like vines, and there is a discreet reverence in the air.
I was searching for a place to record the first track of the album.
A piece born at home, on an almost unreal day when its melody appeared to me.
I went to sleep at sunrise, after hours spent between sound and silence, watching the clouds turn gold beneath my eyes.
When the clouds take over the hills, my home disappears completely above them. Like a castle in the sky. The city vanishes and I live suspended somewhere between earth and heaven. Only my piano remains, floating in a white sea of light.
Blinded by so much beauty, I did what I always do when emotions become too vast to name: I went to the piano.
I pressed one key, then another.
Slowly, the first melody appeared.
During that first session at The Village, I discovered something essential. Playing a melody with sincerity at the moment of its birth is one thing; reproducing it for the recording is another.
I spent hours digging to reach emotional accuracy.
A good take is not about playing every note perfectly.
It is about feeling the space in which the melody breathes, returning to that instant where the emotion is true, raw, untamed.
A musical instrument is absolutely transparent.
Every nuance, every hesitation, every tiny inflection of the heart becomes audible.
There is no mask. The piano reveals.
So when the red light came on, I took a deep breath. I reminded myself that the studio is not just a recording room, it is a mirror.
I did the perfect take after reaching a deep concentration and emotional state. One that fits the top-notch quality ambition I have set for this fourth album.
This song will be the one opening the album.
It will be named: “Sunrise In Your Eyes”.
