Over time, I’ve let you into my creative process, sharing fragments as I compose.
On Instagram, I post themes without calculation. I let you vote. Your responses influence my moments of creation. Some themes catch your attention, and often, those same themes are the ones I develop.
I’m often asked what I do with the ideas that don’t make it onto the album.
The answer is deeper than it may seem.
An album is not a collection of beautiful ideas. It’s a story that can only hold the most accurate emotions. The themes I keep have been tested. They’ve withstood time, fatigue, doubt. They’ve survived my highest level of demand.
Many others haven’t disappeared. They’ve served something larger, like intermediate steps, emotions necessary to reach a form of truth.
I talk about this often with artist friends. Some rewrite obsessively, destroying more than they keep. A friend once told me to be wary of “false beauties” in music,
too seductive to be sincere.
The themes I don’t keep are not failures. They helped me understand what I truly wanted to say. And sometimes, your feedback helps me see more clearly. Not because you decide for me, but because you feel before I understand.
It’s a suggested conversation. Like my music.
The album to come is the result of this crossing, of difficult choices, of necessary renunciations.
The twenty compositions that remain have earned their place. I had close to a hundred themes in mind for this fourth album. Only twenty remained.
No scene strays from the narrative.
No note makes me doubt.
Thank you for being here, at the moment when the music decides.
Sincerely,
Sofiane Pamart
