Just writing these words gives me chills.
I think of the marble steps, their majestic scale.
Of the Grand Foyer, its mirrors, that feeling of stepping into another time.
Everything there invites restraint, elegance, a form of graceful solemnity.
It is a place meant to be admired and respected.
I’m currently composing a unique program for my first concert at the Opéra Garnier.
Created especially for this setting.
The tickets sold out very quickly, more than a year ago.
To those who will be there, I gently encourage you: prepare yourselves.
Dress for the place. Make this evening a ceremony.
Out of love for beauty.
Some places deserve that we rise to the occasion. For yourself first, to experience the moment more fully. And for the evening itself, because you are part of it.
Each person present that night in this setting will play a role, through their presence and their emotions.
For a long time, places like this felt inaccessible to me.
They represented a kind of absolute, almost intimidating.
Their character, their aura, their radiance. They lift you up, preserve fragments of the past, great human moments, shared emotions.
To enter such a place as an artist, for one night, is an immense pride.
Shaking up the codes does not mean erasing the magic or the sacred nature of heritage. On the contrary. To me, it means accessing it with respect and awareness, and bringing one’s own vision without betraying the soul of the place.
At this end-of-year moment, I already feel the excitement rising, like a suspended promise.
I love celebrating elegance.
I am proud to have earned, through my work, access to these places filled with History.
Now, I wish to inhabit this space while honoring it.
So, on January 18th, for one night at the Opera, let’s play the game.
By adding that extra soul that turns a concert into an unforgettable memory.
Sincerely,
Sofiane Pamart
